LP6 North Of The Border

Posted on

Having not seen Madness live for over ten years how happy was I to see in my inbox my regular(ish) news letter from LP6 with Scottish tour dates! There was no need to think about if I was going, it was more of a case of when do I leave to go!!  Set off rather early heading for the Navaar Hotel in Penicuik on Saturday the 30th March, got there in time to be impressed with the sound check, then time for a chat with Stevie aka “Chuggs” and Leo (drums) then settled down for the show, with the first half kicking off with an oldie but a classic `Believe Me`, and included – `The Prince` – `Land of Hope And Glory` – `Drip Fed Fred` – `One Better Day` – and one of my all time greats, `Swan Lake`, plus loads more. The second half kicked off with a near perfect version of `Tomorrow’s Just Another Day` and very expertly straight into `Shut Up`, and also included – `Bed & Breakfast Man` – `Love Struck` – `Uncle Sam` – `It Must Be Love`, and loads more with some great stage play during `Johnny The Horse`, and the set ending with `Night Boat to Cairo`.  Was there time for any more?  Of course there was!  The night ended with `One Step Beyond` and a very fast finish to `Baggy Trousers` The end of a fantastic night, and a very good night was had by all.  So now I’ve been, I’ve seen, bought the t-shirt, and the CD and can’t wait to till LOS PALMAS 6 head north of the border again.”
